friday

today, i was trapped in the house alone, while mama and daddy were on a job and darius was at school. i say i was trapped because i called about several houses in roanoke today and then when all those fell through, on his lunch break, daddy called buddies of his that are realtors and asked if they had connections in roanoke. so after he left, i waited for his buddies to call back with more information. since i had no idea when they would call, i had to stay put. it was rather boring.
i did take the phone outside and get pictures of the colorful leaves with the sun shining through. it was the perfect time of day; the sun was beginning to set so it was shining through the leaves of the trees, making them seem brighter. corey, i'm thinking of making mama a collage of these pictures like the ones i did of the flowers. she can put in on my art wall in the living room. :)
here's a couple of them. they all turned out really good. can't wait for you to see them all.

hopie got here around 5. mama and daddy got here about 45 minutes later. we had supper (i learned another something to make in the crockpot. :)) and mama and daddy ran back out to church. i got a call from the real estate agent working in roanoke saying that after a few calls, he had found a couple of houses of interest and we've arranged to meet tomorrow. while the 'rents were at church, we looked at apartments online. hopie did a lot of the searching. i'm well ready for someone else to have a turn- i'm tired of having to run this all by myself. so she searched the web and put in requests to see them and get applications tomorrow and i took notes so we could make sure we found them all tomorrow. it was nice to be able to sit in the passenger seat for a while, take the lead. so we have a couple houses and a couple dozen apartments to look at tomorrow- we picked all the nicer looking ones that had a spacious floor plan with 2/3 bedrooms.
so lets all pray tomorrow that God hits me with a brick, letting me know when i walk in somewhere that that's where we're supposed to live. Seriously, Corey, pray that God makes it clear to me where He wants us to live. love you.
i'll take plenty of pictures in roanoke, including the carpets.

good and not so good

I have good news and bad news. Which would you like to hear first?
Good news? Okay.

The good news is that I'm heading home to NC in two days. Possibly tomorrow, I'm not ruling that out, but definitely by Thursday. It's going to be fantastic. At home, with my parents, my little brother, my best friend. For a whole week. No definite plans, free to be spontaneous. Ah, I love it.
The only plans I do have is to drive up to Roanoke on Saturday and look at two houses for rent by this dude Richard who I've been emailing back and forth for a couple months. But even that is going to be shared with my parents and Hopie so it's still gonna be so much fun. I wonder what we'll drive. The rodeo? Mama's car? O, O Daddy's truck?! I think that's what we should take, even though I would like to take the rodeo so I can show off my straight-drive driving skills, hehe.

The bad news. You ready? I'm not.
I visited an oral surgeon today. I have an appointment when I get back from NC on that Friday to get my wisdom teeth cut out. Boooo.
But as I was talking to mama about my oral surgery I had back in the days of 2001, she said I was a good patient. After the surgery, I went home and slept the rest of the day. And when I was up and talking the next day, all I said about it was that it felt weird. That was comforting, to me and Corey. Another positive spin on this tragedy is that the appointment is at 8:15A so I won't have to spend half the day dreading my appointment, just making myself more nervous. I can wake up and go. Fabulous. And that's more time to recoop.
And the headaches will be gone, and the shifting of my teeth will be no more. And I won't have to worry about my teeth anymore so that'll be less stress when we start trying to get pregnant. I won't be worried that I'll have to wait the 9 months to have some procedure done. It's all gonna be taken care of. That's sound great to say...It's all gonna be taken care of. Ah, relief.
I'm visiting my ortho from home while I'm in NC to get my retainer refitted so when we do get pregnant, the hormones won't jack up my teeth. That happened to two of my cousins who had had braces when they were younger and when they got pregnant, their teeth shifted back to how they were before. That's NOT gonna happen to me. I'm wearing my newly fitted retainer all through my pregnancy so I am a cute pregnant lady with perfect teeth and the cute new mommy with perfect teeth. :) I'm not doing braces again. And I"m not having ugly teeth. So when I said everything would be taken care of after this appointment, I meant everything. I've thought of all the possibilities and nipped them in the bud.

So starting next Thursday, y'all make sure to pray and think good thoughts for me. :)

Bill Cosby for president

cid:X.MA1.1218155852@aol.com

I have decided to become a write-in candidate .
HERE IS MY PLATFORM:

(1) 'Press 1 for English' is immediately banned. English is the official language-- speak it, or wait at the border until you can.

(2) We will immediately go into a 2-year isolationist posture to straighten out the country's attitude. NO imports, NO exports. We will use the Wal-Mart policy, 'If we ain't got it, you don't need it.'

(3) When imports are allowed, there will be a 100% import tax on them.

(4) All retired military personnel will be required to man one of our many observation towers on the southern border (six month tour). They will be under strict orders not to fire on SOUTHBOUND aliens.

(5) Social security will immediately return to its original state. If you didn't put nuttin' in, you ain't gettin nuttin out. The president nor any other politician will be able to touch it.

(6) Welfare - Checks will be handed out on Fridays at the end of the 40-hour school week and the successful completion of a urinalysis test and a passing grade.

(7) Professional Athletes --Steroids - The FIRST time you check positive you're banned for life.

(8) Crime - We will adopt the Turkish method. The first time you steal, you lose your right hand. There are no more life sentences. If convicted, you will be put to death by the same method you chose for your victim--gun, knife, strangulation, etc.

(9) One export will be allowed; Wheat. The world needs to eat. A bushel of wheat will be the exact price of a barrel of oil.

(10) All foreign aid using American taxpayer money will immediately cease, and the saved money will pay off the national debt and ultimately lower taxes. When disasters occur around the world, we'll ask the American people if they want to donate to a disaster fund, and each citizen can make the decision whether it's a worthy cause.

(11) The Pledge of Allegiance will be said every day at school and every day in Congress.

(12) The National Anthem will be played at all appropriate ceremonies, sporting events, outings, etc.

Sorry if I stepped on anyone's toes but a vote for me will get you better than what you have, and better than what you're gonna get. Thanks for listening, and remember to write in my name, BILL COSBY, on the ballot in November.
