Christmas Agenda
The rest of the week has been fantastic. Man, I love being home with the people who know me best and who I have so much fun with.
Monday we just chilled out here at home, relaxing, spending some time together. That evening we went up to Mamaw's house right up the hill and had some cheeseball and other goodies and she gave us a little something, even though we wasn't supposed to buy for anyone. With Daddy's family i.e. Mamaw and Papaw and his brothers and sisters, etc. we don't exchange gifts. Instead, we buy for people at the local nursing home; if we didn't have that opportunity, those people wouldn't get anything for Christmas and that's just sad.
But Mamaw got us a little something anyway, along with the rest of the youngin's and then we came back down to the house to....that's right! OPEN PRESENTS! But only the ones from the kids (a.k.a. me, corey, dana, and darius)
Darius got me a new bath robe.
Dana got me a new white sweater and pj pants.
Corey got me two books, two lil' golden books, a leather bag, a planner, fun socks, a tobagan, Avril Lavinge CD, the new Pirates movie, and candies.
The next morning, IT WAS CHRISTMAS! And the siblings and sibling-in-law took turns opening presents, as we always do.
Mama and daddy got me fun socks, a drawing & painting book, a digital photography book, a new bible, pjs, gift cards to Walmart and Olive Garden (for me and Corey both), and a new winter coat, one to match the ones mama and Dana has. :) Then mamaw and papaw came down to see all our stuff (we spread all our presents out on the bed for them to see) and after they left we hit the wide open road for Denton, NC to spend Christmas with mama's family. It was boring. No need to mention what went on there.
Yesterday (Wednesday) the girls got up early and went shopping, all day. We hit Big Lots, Goody's, and Goodwill! Wooo! You can't put us girls together and not expect us to hit at least one Goodwill. then we met the boys at the WJ Walmart, had lunch, then went to Roses, then came home and relaxed.
Today, we are driving to Knoxville to meet Dana's boyfriend Eli's family for lunch and give her to them for the rest of the week. Another day in the car. Blah. Hopefully after today we can stay out of the car for a while. I don't think there's anymore big road trips planned except for the one back to Wilmore on Saturday or Sunday. We still haven't decided.
Hope all y'all out there without blogs that I can check or that aren't updating their blog with lots of over detailed posts about Christmas are doing wonderful. :)

some of this, some of that
My first weekend at home and I've been having so much fun. I got a whole 'nother week of this stuff.
So far, I've been to two Christmas plays. One was our own at our church, New River Missionary Baptist. My brother was the butler to Ebby Neezer. Dang, she was a scrooge. But the play was great. Darius had his hair sprayed gray, so he looked young in the face but old on the head. Weird. Tonight he was in another youth groups play at a different church, the church his current girlfriend goes to. He was the school bus driver, and a cute one at that. He was on the stage all of about 5 minutes, 3.5 minutes at a time, once at the beginning and again at the very end. Then, they switched between songs and readings for another hour. O my gosh. It was soooooooo long. But I had the cutest baby sitting in front of me so that kinda helped distract me, :) (Why is it that every baby is 'the cutest baby'?)
There has been one bad thing that I have to endure every time I come home. I cannot sit through a sermon at my old church without feeling angry or offended. I always want to either get up and walk out or argue with what the preacher is saying. I had this preacher since I was in high school and since he was pretty much the only style I had heard, it seemed okay and I didn't have a problem. But once I went to Berea Baptist and listened to Pastor Kevin and now go to Wilmore Baptist under Pastor David, I see what good preaching is. I can't stand sitting under my old preacher anymore. Absolutely can't stand it. He's so negative, all the time. He has nothing good to say. On top of that, he is always on a soapbox setting himself above every one else. He talks about himself like he's better than everyone and puts all of us to shame. He does everything right, he is perfect in every way and we are the biggest sinners ever. I can't stand it. He thinks that if anyone doesn't live exactly like he does (because he's perfect remember) that they are wicked. I'm not exaggerating, he said this himself. Today for example, he said he took some of the youth to our local campground to listen to a Christian band and spend time in fellowship with other Christians. Then he goes into this hissy-fit about how they were a contemporary band with bass guitars and loud speakers and blah blah blah and that those young men were so wicked and representing the 'real' Christians poorly.
One of my friends is the lead singer of that band and I know for a fact he is a Christian, been saved since elementary school and has a close relationship with the Lord. It pissed me off for the preacher to judge them like that. Just because some people worship differently doesn't make them evil or 'wicked'. Just because the Lord speaks to some people through more modern Christian bands like Third Day and Newsboys instead of old fashioned hymnals doesn't make them wicked. Every Sunday it's something different, something wrong with the way everyone lives that is going to send them to Hell, something of course that does not apply to him because he does nothing wrong. Grrr. So every Sunday that I have to listen to him speak, I'm itching to get out, moving around, studying scriptures on my own, playing with little pieces of paper, just so anxious for it to be over so I can leave and worship like I want to.
I bet all y'all reading this is thankful me and Corey are leaving on Saturday huh?
Good thing though is that tomorrow is Christmas Eve! That's so exciting.
So Merry Christmas to everybody. Hope y'all have a wonderful time with family and friends (and that you get lots of great goodies!) ;)
God bless.

stupid lame SA
At work, we're doing a secret santa (except we call it a secret angel i.e. SA) and I obviously got the scrooge of the day care. Yesterday, Monday, I got an envelope with a couple pieces of hard candy and a rusty flaky keychain with the poor sketching scratched off. Nessa wasn't happy.
Today I got something a little better, not as bad as yesterdays.
I got nothing.
That's right, nothing. I'll keep ya updated on the lame-o poopface and my gifts or absence of gifts. Until then...

Today (Wednesday) I had two presents. I had an angel that stands about 3 in' high and is made out of something I'm not familiar with and a box of chocolate covered cherries. But get this, the handwriting was different. I was kinda thinking that maybe my boss (who I told yesterday about this whole being shafted by the SA thing) bought me a gift for today and a gift to make up for yesterday. I dunno, maybe I'm being crazy. But something fishy is goin' on around here.
Okay, so yesterday (Thursday) I got nothing. Ahh, relief.
Today, I got a small green journal type thing and a pack of gel pins. And guess who didn't show up at the party we had tonight, in which the secret angel's were discovered- uh huh, that's right, mine didn't show. What a surprise. But at the party, a white elephant, I got a Clarinex old fashion alarm clock. So that's kinda fun.
Well, that's all the drama of WDCC Christmas. (Shh, but hallelujah it's over.)

Dear Santa, I can explain
Well, good thing I know mommy and daddy are really in charge of the presents.
So here's my Christmas goodie list:
fun socks
a dog
a brown belt (M/L/9)
throw pillows for my burgundy couch
pretty leather bags (with few to minimum pockets)
the new Kelly Clarkson CD
photograhy books/handbooks
gourmet coffee
magnetic picture frames (the clear cheap ones at WalMart)
hooded sweaters (M)
cute, not too girly, winter boots (91/2) - since I'll be walking to work in the snow and ice
gift cards to walmart, target, olive garden, lowes, joseph-beth
i'm not trying to be greedy, just listing a lot of stuff so what i do get is still somewhat of a surprise and i put it on my blog because its the easiest way to tell both families at the same time.
love you guys- and i'm not saying that just to get more presents.
seriously, love you guys.

3D snowmen and pina colada's
So tonight was 'Christmas in Wilmore.' Main street was closed off for all the festivities- the lighting of Wilmore's Christmas tree and cruising through the different shops getting hot chocolate, apple cider and lots of cookies. At the tree lighting, they gave out 3D glasses that, when you looked through them, changed the Christmas lights into mini snowmen. It was crazy go nuts.
Afterwards, a lot of us went to Chick-fil-A and then, still not wanting to go back to the apartments, made a last minute decision to check out the

No worries, mama and daddy, we didn't go to get drinks. A couple of us heard that they had a huge selection of cheeses and a deli so we were curious. Towards the end of our barn tour, me and Laura were walkin back from looking at the cheese when we passed a particular aisle and Laura says, "Hey, pina colada's!" They were definately pinatas, not pina colada's. We all agreed she had stayed in the barn too long and that it was in fact time to leave.
Fun times in lil' dry Wilmore.
