8 months

I forgot to post about him turning 8 months! Of course, it was during the Thanksgiving holiday. Is that a good reason?

Well, my boy is, obviously, 8 months old now. He has 3 teeth, two lower, one top with the second top almost coming through. He puffs his cheeks out now, holding his breath in and humming at the same time. He has also learned to spit, tongue between the lips and blowing. It's real funny. He thinks so too. He's a comedian, like his dad tries to be. He will do something, see that it gets a reaction from people, and do it over and over, looking to see if we're still laughing. He loves rolling around on our bed. It's a king size waterbed so to him, it's this vast down-comforted sea. He eats Ritz crackers almost everyday; he loves the things. That's thanks to my cousin, Danyell, who gave him one at a reception we were at. He has wanted them endlessly since then. He hates riding in the carseat. Well, he hates being put in the carseat; once the engine is on and we're on the road, he's happy as a clam. He has started throwing temper tantrums. They're not major. He yells in protest while jutting his belly out, arching his back so that you can't hold him or sit him down or buckle him in. (cue eye-rolling) He doesn't want to stop for anything. The kid can't walk, but would run if he could. And he gets upset at me when I don't let him go run like he would like to. He doesn't understand that he would fall flat on his face if I let go. Poor thing. Wanting to move and doesn't know how yet. He is crawling now, got the knees in it and everything. Still resembles an army crawl, but soon he'll have it perfected. I'll go to get him up from a nap and he'll be on his hands and knees, just rocking back and forth in his bed. He's working on pulling himself up now. He gets both hands up on the couch, but then doesn't know what to do with his legs. So he hangs there and pulls, and then lets go and fusses a little, then tries again. It's the cutest thing. Let's see, what else?....He still says "mama" and now has little baby talk conversations, even changing his tone and volume within his little speeches. He preaches now too. He starts off babbling real soft then get real chesty and loud. It doesn't sound angry, just....preachy. And when we laugh, he just looks up and smiles, like "what?"He loves books, loves for me to read to him. He will start preaching if I don't turn the pages fast enough for him. He doesn't care for black and white anymore, just color. We have the book "Goodnight, Moon" and in it, the pages alternate between black and white and color. He doesn't like every other page. He's a charmer, loves the ladies. And one thing I really love about him- he can be so unhappy, or bored or fussy but put him in public and he's a whole new person. He's a fun-loving, happy Simon we know and love. I mean, he's like that 98% of the time regardless (He really is the best baby.) but when he does get a little fussy, that all goes away where it matters- with other people. I think he's just a social-bug. The center of attention at a huge party is where the kid wants to be.
I can't believe he's growing up so fast.

Emily Grace McClure

Emily Grace (Hopie's baby) was born November 13th.
She weighed 8 pounds 12 ounces and looks so pretty in pink, doesn't she?

A NEW BABY!

No, it's not ours. haha. Did I get'cha?

No, my best friend, Hope! Some of you will remember her from her visits to Wilmore. Laura, you remember her?

Anyway, she's in the hospital right now. She's been there since 7A this morning.
I'm telling everyone this because

1) I'm ubber excited!
2) I'm ubber dubber excited! and
3) I wanted prayer for her. This is her first baby, and she'll tell you herself, she's wimpy. So please pray. She's already been in labor for at least 10 hours.

Thanks everybody. And yey! for Hope and baby Emily Grace.

Can it be? He's 7 months old.

Didn't this kid just turn 6 months old? Good grief.

Well, he's a little over 18 pounds, he's holding his own bottle, and eating solid foods after his bottle at each meal time (breakfast, lunch and dinner). He still sleeps through the night and he still has just two little teeth. He is working on cutting those top front teeth. He's also trying to crawl. He cheats right now and just pulls himself up with his arms, but today, just a couple of times, he got his knees underneath his belly and lunged forward. So not too much longer and this little boy of mine will be crawling around the house and be unstoppable. He is also saying "mama". He says it A LOT! ...my boy. :)

Check up on Peter

You remember that lil' bunny me and Simon found about a month ago? We found him in our driveway and he was covered in flies, so I got him in a box and took him to the Roanoke Wildlife Rescue. Well, I called yesterday.
He got better- he's back out on his own in the wild.
You go, Peter!

27 September 2010

Simon is 6 months old!

We've hit a big milestone. It's bittersweet.
He turned 6 months old on Saturday. When we woke him up that morning, he looked up to see who was in his room as usual, and I said, "Simon, you're 6 months old today. You're 6 months old." He grinned the biggest grin and then laid his head back down and sucked his thumb. Then up again he came just smiling.
For his birthday, we went to the VA Museum of Transportation here in downtown Roanoke. We saw trains, in a toy set that extended hundreds of feet and in the railyard outside. We saw old antique cars, and old VA state license plates, and we learned about greyhound buses, and saw an display of old matchbox cars. We even got to sit in a train and play with the gadgets and we got to see the bedroom and dining car in a train. He had a lot of fun.

Also on his birthday, he got a visit from Memaw and Pepaw and Aunt Paige. He loved being with them again; he just kept smiling and kicking his feet from being so happy. He showed them his park with his table under his tree that him and Mama walk to everyday. And they got to see the house all painted and put together.
We went to the doctor today for his 6 month checkup. He's 17 lbs 1 oz. and he's 27.5 inches long. Note the last visit at 4 months, he was 11 lbs. 13 oz. and 25.5 inches long. BIG jump. (It's the formula.) The doctor was very happy with his weight gain. We were getting concerned, but now instead of the 5th percentile in weight, we are in the 42nd. Yey! 17 lbs!
He's started trying to crawl. Memaw gives it 2 weeks before he's getting somehere and he gets really silly before going to bed. He thinks it's funny when he farts and loves to log roll. And he just talks, talks, talks, talks, talks.

14 September 2010

the humor in everything

Simon has a new love. He loves to destroy our junk mail.
We go out to check the mailbox and we sit on the front porch together.
While I read the good mail, Simon "reads" the junk mail.

I love this system.

Daddy's 1st Football Game

Last year, Si was just a bean, listening to mama's commentary on the game. This year, he actually gets to watch Daddy play. GO TEAM!

My favorite commercial to date

is at the bottom of the page. You gotta check it out.
Been there, done that.

date days and new toys

This is my cool dude. Isn't he sweet? These are his new and first pair of sunglasses. He likes them, surprisingly. He thinks its funny when you lift them off his eyes and say "boo" then drop them back down.
Labor day weekend (Saturday evening-Monday afternoon), Simon stayed with his Nana and Papa at their house. They come up here to ours on Friday and stayed the night, and when they left Saturday evening, they took him with them. So while we had the house to ourselves (which, by the way, was EXTREMELY weird), we finished a lot of painting that was put on hold when the funds run out. We went hiking on Milo's favorite trail, which is the one no one else goes on so Milo can run free, and we went out to eat at Panera bread and got dessert and Baskin Robbins. Thank you Mama and Daddy for the anniversary lunch/dessert. Corey ran through the upstairs as loud as he could (it sounded as if he might fall through), and while we were painting, we played our music REALLY loud, just cuz we could without waking Simon up. We missed him though. It was weird when we left him with Mama and Daddy went we went to the beach, but to have him taken from our house, and to be in our house without him was unexplainably crazy. It was hard to walk past his room; it smelled like him.
But we got him two new toys. He's outgrew his swing and his bouncy seat. He likes to use those strong abs and his awesome head control to sit up in both of those, which leads to falling out. Luckily, I've stopped this from happening both times he's tried, but seeing him sit up in those toys was enough for me to know it was time to switch them out for bigger boy toys. So we got him a bumbo and a johnny jump up, both at "Once Upon A Child" so they were cheap. He likes both new toys, but more so the jump up, even though he can't jump yet. He likes to swing and twirl; we think he likes being independent and solely responsible for what happens while he's in it.
I leave you with him in the johnny jump up. Til next time.

02 September 2010

our own Peter Rabbit

Today was different from all the others- I found a bunny, just a few weeks old I'm guessing, in our driveway by the trashcans. He was all alone and there were lots of flies swarming around him. He didn't move very fast either, no jumps, no scurring, just waddling little foot after little foot. So I got a box, covered the bottom inch with grass and clover, and caught the poor little thing (after putting on gloves). He was so tiny. Then I didn't know what to do- I just couldn't leave him like that. So after he was safe inside the house in his little AVON box, I got to calling people. I called mama to ask what I should do, I texted Andrea to see what she thought I should do, and taking Andrea's advice, I called the Roanoke Animal Hospital. They said that since it a wild bunny, I needed to call the Roanoke Wildlife Rescue. So I called them. They were concerned about the flies- they said that was never a good thing. And they told me to bring him in and they would do all they could to nurse the little guy back to health. So we took him in, and was greeted by Dorothy who was holding a baby raccoon on her shoulder like a baby. We told Peter Rabbit's story about how we found him, and we left him there with Dorothy. On our way back to the car, we noticed little deer she had in a big fenced lot- about 21 baby deer and a duck. There were cages and lots everywhere. There's no telling how many animals and of what kind she had there, in her yard and in her basement (yeah, the facility was run the basement of her house). She was a sweet woman, with pictures everywhere of animals that had been brought to her that she had helped.
And now, Peter is one of them. Our cute, poor little Peter Rabbit.

5 months old today

My baby is 5 months old today. I can't believe it. He's so big. I love him more and more everyday.
He's on formula now; he wasn't gaining enough weight. Now he's definitely gaining weight and is so much happier. And I am a free woman. I know nursing was the best thing for him, and I did it as long as my body would let me. That doesn't change the fact that it feels SO good to not feel solely responsible for providing enough food for him.
He says "uh-uh" (as in "no") a lot, of course not knowing what he's saying. He has also said "o.k." a couple times too. He likes to grasp things constantly and is really good at sitting up on his own and leaning up on his elbows. He's quick at turning his head when someone enters the room and can even watch the cars go by the house. The other day, he actually watched a far-off dragonfly swarm around.
He's a roly-poly, rolling from belly to back and then back to belly and then again. And he's a big fan of cartoons while he sits in his exersaucer. He smiles all the time and is a whole lot better with other people besides his mama and dad. He likes to be scared; he thinks it's funny. And when he gets excited, his legs go straight and his hands make fast little waves close to his belly, and he pants super fast. It's so cute.
That's our monthly birth date update. We're glad there's a way we can stay close to y'all and feel like y'all are right here with us as he grows up.

22 August 2010

Corey says "this blows."

Corey is reminiscing on a time when his friend, Dan, told him that humans were meant to live in communities, so it keeps people from feeling isolated and it promotes everybody helping everybody with everything. No one wants to or should feel alone in this world.
He never realized just how right Dan was.
Until now.
We've, obviously, by the intro, been a little depressed lately when it comes to our relationships.
At first, we thought it was us; we weren't fun enough or friendly enough and nobody wanted to hang out. In all honesty, nobody really just drops by like they did while we were in Seminary, and it seems like it's always us that invites people over or initiates the "hanging out". Our friendships are starting to feel lopsided. Do people want to hang out with us? If so, how come they don't ask? How come its us asking them each time? Do people not reach out for friends anymore, are they comfortable with having just their spouse? Do they just not like us? Does Corey make too many lame jokes? Do I not talk enough?
Maybe everyone has "better" friends that they prefer over us. Maybe it's just the stage of life we're in, with a kid and all, maybe we've been watching too much "FRIENDS" to know what friendships are like in reality. Hard to say.
We crave friendships. We love having friends to hang out with, go places with, do spontaneous things with, just have someone to talk to. Is that crazy? Are we the only ones that seem to be out of the loop- not feeling loved by people who care about us, besides our mothers? Is it supposed to be this hard to keep friendships going? Is it supposed to feel like one couple is doing all the work to keep it real?
We have trouble thinking of the last time someone asked US over, invited US to dinner, asked US to just come watch tv with them. We feel like if we don't initiate getting together, nothing would happen, and no one would miss us. So we can't just sit here and "test" our friendships to see if the other people will eventually realize they like us and miss us because it feels like they wouldn't notice and we would be left behind. And at the same time, we don't want to be the type of people that are always calling, always inviting, always showing up at their house to just hang out.
Is it us? Do people not like us?
We miss seminary life. Only with Simon there too.

So here's a shout out to all our great friends at Broadhurst that made our lives so much cooler:
Kel & Leanne, John & Laura, Kelly & Shannon, Brandon & Kelli, and that crazy Canadian Maggie.
We love you guys, and miss you and wish we still had y'all in our life.

17 August 2010

today's photo shoot

tell me...tell me this isn't the cutest baby you've ever seen.

That's our baby.

I hate job hunting.

I think I'm going to have to get a job.
Yup.
I am going to try to find a part time job where Simon can come with me. Not so easy.
I found a job for an Assistant Director at a daycare. Lord knows I could do that job. And I also found a job for a in home babysitter (a nanny) of a 15 month old. And I can do that job as well. All my years in daycare are paying off. Both jobs are part time, so me and Simon would have the mornings at home and would be home for dinner and weekends.
I like being at home with Simon all day, taking walks, playing in his pool, swinging on the porch watching the cars go by. But unfortunately, the world runs on money, and lots of it. And we don't have lots of it. But if I could get a job that Simon could come to, especially like the nanny job, that would be the best of both worlds.
So I'd be working part time (with Simon), selling my photography, and selling AVON. Now to just get all these things making me good money.

16 August 2010

enjoying the pool

for the first time, unlike the one in Cinci.
His pool is an inflatable duck tub that we don't use, so we made it into his private pool. :)

bye bye bitty baby

My son has swallowed a brick of lead.
He's so heavy. He started formula this past Friday (the 13th, ooOOoo!), and is loving it. Unfortunately, he's getting chunky. I know, it's only been 4 days, but it's true. And he's so freakin' heavy. My little itty bitty baby is going away and being replaced by a baby that ate him.

13 August 2010

yesterday, for the first time

Simon rolled over from his back to his belly! He's been rolling over from belly to back for about a month now, but yesterday was the first time from back to belly. And I got to see it happen! No offense to Nana and Papa, but I'm so glad he waited to do this until after we got back from the beach.
Of course, Simon and mama had a deal: No "new's" while mama's away.

11 August 2010

10 August 2010

first time away from each other

We went to the beach last Thursday-Sunday with our friends Blake and Andrea.

We had a lot of fun in Wilmington. My family has a place down there so all we have to pay for is the gas to go and groceries. That's a pretty cheap vacation. We hung out and watched movies on our down time, and of course spent Friday and Saturday on the beach, we did a little shopping, we walked through Downtown Wilmington, and went on a Ghost Walk, hearing stories of ghosts haunting certain buildings/cemeteries in the area. While at the beach, we got a decorative fishing net to hang in our room and we collected seashells from the beach, as we always do. But instead of having them in random places or losing them, this time we're going to hang them in the net. And each time we go to the beach, we'll collect the coolest, most unique shells, write the year on the backside, and hang them in our net in our room at home. It should be fun to see it fill up over the years.
Simon stayed the four days with my parents. They really enjoyed that, which we all knew they would. Simon I think learned a lot that weekend. He learned that other people are happy to meet his needs; it doesn't have to be just mama. He came back from his vacation with Nana and Papa so much more trusting of other people, and so much more social. He smiles at all our friends now, when he used to just stare at them in the way we call "the judge" and he likes...well, he tolerates being held by other people. Last night we went across the street to our friends' house and he played with Kelly for about an hour, just kicking and smiling at things she said and just talked and talked and talked. Now, he's always done that with us, but as soon as someone "different" was looking at him, he would be "the judge." We're so proud of how well he did at Nana's and how better he is now with people.
We got a fish today. A bright red beta. I think a fish bowl makes a house so much more "homey," and I think Simon will enjoy watching him swim around. He loved shopping for one; he stared into each fish tank, just watching all the fishy. We haven't thought of a name yet...do people name their fish? I haven't had a fish since I shared on with my suite mates my junior year of college. His name was Kickapoo. I don't really remember who came up with that, or how.
And of course, our tree was cut down today. It was huge and so dead, and every time it stormed, we were scared it would fall on the back of the house, through our bedroom. So it needed to be cut down; it just seems so empty there now. At least now the many crows won't wake us up in the morning.
Well Corey just yelled dinner. Over and out.

crazy wonderful

We have a very busy, exciting weekend this weekend.
Tonight, we had over our great friends, John and Theresa, who were our first friends here in Roanoke. As of late, they have switched churches so we don't see them anymore and we miss them a lot. One of my first posts after we moved was about the Netzels and how they are so wonderful to us. Anyway, they came over for a visit tonight, we ordered pizza and talked so much. They are always so interested in how our lives are going that we get a lot of talking done in a given hour. We love them for being so concerned and so involved in our lives.
Tomorrow, my brother and his girlfriend, Stacee, are coming up real early in the morning and hanging out all day. We're really happy Stacee gets to come with him this time. As if that wasn't exciting enough, mama and daddy want to meet us on the Parkway at a place called Mabry Mill, to eat lunch. None of us have ever been there, but mama says she's heard great things. So I get to see so much family tomorrow, and great friends tonight.
I love this weekend.

I got some crazy news for y'all. Simon is teething. At 4 months old, he's trying to cut teeth. I just can't believe it. Some days are better than others, but on the worse days, he's randomly fussy, he runs a little fever, he doesn't want to feed much, and every day, good or bad, he's knawing on everything, his fist and fingers especially. And the drool- good grief. But I put some Orajel on his gums and wha-la, he's fantastic. Ya gotta love the Orajel.

28 July 2010

4 months

Simon is rolling over consistently, raising his head up real good. He loves to laugh, but only after he's eaten. Things are so much more funny after his belly is full. Try to make him laugh before food and he stares at you like you've lost your mind. Straight face, "You're an idiot" look.
He is 25.5 inches long and weighs 11 lbs 13 oz. He's definitely a small baby, but we're working on that. We've scheduled more feedings during the day and each feeding now includes milk as well as rice cereal. He's a huge eater, so most of the time, milk is not enough.
Idn't he just so cute though?

Cincinnati trip

We went to Cincinnati this past weekend to hang out with Corey's family. It was the second time they have seen Simon, the first being when he was just a couple weeks old. So everyone was SUPER excited to see him and hug him and all that lovey-dovey stuff. Unfortunately, Simon was not feeling it. When we got there Thursday evening, he had been in his carseat for over 8 hours, with maybe 3 breaks to eat. He didn't eat well, because it was too hot to focus on anything else and we were cramped in the back. So instead of his normal 40-50 minute nursing sessions, he ate for maybe 10 minutes off and on, struggling to get comfortable. Along with a near empty stomach, he had slept maybe 45 minutes the whole 8+ hour trip, when he usually gets 6 hours of sleep through 3 naps during the day. He was surprisingly playful and quiet despite this drastic mess of a day. Until we got to the Barkers and out of the car. He was ready to eat and sleep for the night. He didn't anticipate all the family that wanted to pass him around, kissing him, talking to him, yada yada. He shrieked like never before as soon as I gave him away.
So he was automatically pegged as a screaming, unhappy baby. But once he had ate to his content and slept through the night, and ate when he woke up, he was the happy, smiling, mellow baby that we know and love.
He had a couple of firsts while we were on this trip. It was his first time meeting Auntie Allison and cousin Cayden, Grandmother and Granddad Barker, Aunt Gloria and Michelle, and Garnet. He visited Daddy's hometown church for the first time as well. He had his first Skype experience with Uncle Chris. He had his first taste of banana, he flipped over his car seat toy, Mr. Frog, and he got in a kiddie pool.

On the trip back, he did better. Ate better, slept better, everything better.
Even so, next time,
WE'RE FLYING.

Sunday morning disappointment

I just had a bad experience in church this morning.
We leave Simon in the nursery during worship service. I miss him the whole time, but it's good for him to have others take care of his needs so he learns trust. Anywho, so I realized during service that I had forgot to tell them that he needed to be put down for his nap on his belly, otherwise he screams bloody murder. So I leave service, go to the children's wing, sure that they'll be pulling their hair out because of his shrieking.
I walk in, look around and Simon is not in there. Everyone else is, but not Simon. The girl I left him with sees me looking around and says, "Oh, he's in the other room. He was disturbing the other babies." The other room is two doors away, with nothing in it but extra furniture and supplies. I give her "the stink eye," and hurry into the "other room". Simon, my poor baby, is lying on his back, no blanket, in this dark, what looks like a hardly used storage room, crying. All by himself. No one watching him, or trying to comfort him. I got so mad. Who in their right mind puts a baby down in a room, two doors away, all alone, clearly upset because he's screaming...who?
I pick him up, talk to him a second on our way back to the right room where all the other babies and "caretakers" are, and lay him down in there. I remain in the nursery with him until Corey comes down after service is done. I was not going to leave him again with someone who gives me the impression that she doesn't know what she's doing and would just put him as far away as possible if he cried. And she knew. She knew that this mother was not happy with the situation. She dodged me the rest of the time I was down there.
I'm not going to be one of those mothers that is overprotective and refuses to have someone else care for Simon, so he will go back to the nursery. He will not, however, be given to that girl ever again.
Nobody mistreats Simon or this mama will fight you.

AVON, Plumbing, and RoLLiNg OvEr

I am an official Avon rep. :) I've found a website that has some online jobs, but that's not happening fast enough for us, so I've decided to sell Avon. I've always loved looking at the catalogs; they've got some super cute stuff and its so cheap, so I'm excited to start selling. I hope to make good money from this so I can continue to stay at home with Si. I'm not expecting thousands, but at least a good amount. So anyone that wants Avon, order from me. I'll post my Avon website in a couple of days. Support this stay-at-home mom. :)

Corey is thinking about becoming a plumber. Apparently, it's good money and steady work, unlike his In-home therapist job, though we are talking about him keeping a couple of clients for after-hours so he can still be gaining experience in the field he loves. So we'll see how that pans out. And might I say that Corey is an excellent plumber- he worked on our kitchen sink, taking out the nonfunctional disposal and replacing it with normal pipes. I think he would make an excellent plumber. He still hopes to become the Pastoral Counselor for our church though. We're still holding on to that dream.

Simon is rolling over now and propping himself up on his elbows. He sucks on his thumb and is wanting to experiment with solids already. He's a big, endless eater like his daddy. So every morning, when he's at his hungriest, he has milk and some rice cereal. That starts his day off well. He "mmmm"s after each bite- another thing his daddy used to do as a baby, and still does when the food is just that good. He's on a regular schedule now. He naps for about 2 hours 3x a day, eating after each nap, followed by about 40 minutes of wake time. Then its back down to nap. We have this schedule all day every day. And he sleeps through the night, from about 8 or 830 to about 7. We go back to the doctor this month for another round of shots. That makes me cry to think about- his sad, painful face.
Simon's such a cute kid, so good. We have a fantastic son.
Corey says we make good babies.
I agree.

25 June 2010

3 months old today

So I've found how I can work at home! Yey! Now I'm a step closer to staying home with the Simster.
Not much is going on these days. I stay at home with Simon, who is on a schedule now which is excellent. And he's sleeping through the night. We put him down about 8 and go wake him up at 7 the next morning. It's freakin' fantastic. He's such a good sleeper. He plays a lot more now, and talks a lot more. He is smiling and kicking those feet and when we help him stand up, he takes little baby steps. It's as if he wants to be walking already. I wonder if he'll skip the crawling part, and just take off walking. He has a fake cough that makes him laugh and he loves to be talked to. He's so attentive.
This is my life now. And I love it.

25 May 2010

On his birthday

My baby had 3 shots today.
It was awful to watch him in that much pain.
To add to the already traumatic experience, he had fell asleep on my shoulder during the time it took to get the nurse back in after the doctor left. He woke up and was poked...3 times.
I know that every baby and every mother goes through this but this is different. This is my baby.
He was so calm. He looked around after I laid him on the table, and found me. A calm, peaceful, curious face in the blink of an eye turned to a red, scrunched face with his head thrown back and wailing the most heartbreaking cry.
I won't forget that switch, those two very different faces, as long as I live.
My heart is still broken.

We closed on the house yesterday. We've been in this process since January 20th, and we finally closed yesterday.
Simon had his one month check up today- 9 lbs 10 oz, 23 in. long. He's getting bigger. :)
Well, I'm not really feeling the bloggin' so I'll try this again later.
In the mean time, here's pictures from this past weekend.

10 April 2010

to catch you up

Well hello out there!
We haven't had the internet in the apartment we've been staying in so I've not been able to post as much as I wanted. I have missed it.
So we're still trying to close on the house- we're pretty upset about this. it's been since the end of January that we first started this process. It's April. That's more than the allowed 45 days. It's been frustrating. And of course, if you're on facebook, you know Simon Harold was born March 25th at 5:04p; he was 6 days late. And we had to have a c-section. Labor was hard and not progressing, the meds they gave to regulate and encourage contractions did the exact opposite- they screwed the contractions up, making them few and far between and not progressive and the meds made Simon's heart rate drop. Turns out when he was delivered, he was turned sideways (which would have caused serious complications if he was born vaginally) and the cord was around his neck. But I was thankful- the contractions were extremely painful, they messed up my epi and had to do it twice (no fun), and I was only 3 centimeters dilated. That would have been a very VERY long night/morning/day.
Enough talking- I know y'all are still looking forward to pictures of the house and if you're not on facebook, pictures of Simon. So here they are.
