It is totally a day for ALL those things.
My dad went back to the surgeon today and he said that based on the first clear X-ray since the accident, he actually broke his shoulder, not dislocated it. It's gonna be 4 more weeks til he has to go back. Still no surgery, but it's another month out of work. The surgeon also said that by the time daddy goes back, he needs to be able to outstretch his arm in front of him. So he doesn't have to stay in the sling as much so he can work on gaining strength and flexibility back but he still can't do too much work because it can still just as easily be damaged again.
Darius, my little brother, got a physical for Upward Bound this summer as required each year and he got the results back today. 2 of the 3 heart valves are leaking. What this means is that the valves connected to his heart are not closing all the way, thus some of the blood needed to go into his heart is not getting there because the valves aren't closing and holding it in. So now he has to go to a cardiologist to have more tests and scans done to determine how serious it is.
God should sprout a money tree in our backyard!
That all happened this morning.
This afternoon around 330, Darius was in a car accident. ...yeah...
He was riding with a friend (in the friends car) and the friend lost control of the car going thru a curve, overcompensated and went over the embankment, landing on the passenger side. His car is totaled. Darius scratched his left arm up but other than that, he's okay. His friend made it out okay as well.
Has my family taken on the role of Job?
Honestly.

With God everything is going to be okay. I've got you all in my prayers and on the prayer list at church.

Job is one of my favorite books in the bible, not cause the poor guy suffers and suffers, but cause he shows such a tremendous amount of faith and strength somebody can only find from the Lord. Your family has shown me that each one of you already has that kinda faith and strength, and now, even though it sucks, your puttin it to the test. But if there is any family that can pass the test, it's the Pollards....no doubt in my mind.
Prayin for you always
